New Information

Welcome back everyone!

We seem to be finally rid of the freezing winds and the Western Suburbs 'flu, both of which have plagued us all. So this seems to be the perfect time to get cracking on our reading.

The first morning tea meeting went off without a hitch. My thanks to those who showed up and also thank you to the many of you who 'phoned or emailed me to let me know that you couldn't make it due to the 'flu.

The dinner meeting was post-poned, too many of us had either ourselves or relatives to look after. In retrospect, it was probably unrealistically hopeful to launch an evening event in the middle of winter and 'flu season. However, we will be soldiering on for our October event.

In our first meeting we chatted about what books we liked to read and what we hoped for from the book club. We all agreed that we all had different tastes but that we wanted to be exposed to books we hadn't read and we wouldn't normally otherwise read.

Brisbane City Council has provided some excellent resources for our little bookclub (thank you especially to Robert at Indooroopilly Library).

I will have more updates about the Brisbane Writers Festival shortly as well.

Regards

Kate
